Barn weddings out toward Evington and Forest, a ceremony in a garden above the river, a reception in a hotel ballroom on Church Street: I've built timelines around all of it.

I'm Patrick, a wedding photographer based in Danville, Virginia, an hour south on 29. I direct the day like a film, with a real timeline built around where the light will be and guidance whenever you need it. Every image is hand-edited true to color, no batch filters, no trends.

02 — Venues

Lynchburg venues I'd point you toward.

Lynchburg's venues split between the foothills, with barns and farms that face the Blue Ridge, and the city, with a historic downtown that photographs beautifully at dusk. A few I'd send a couple to look at:

Sorella Farms Evington

A barn built in 1827 and restored with real care, set on 76 acres of rolling hills, pasture, a pond with a 40-foot fountain and a two-hundred-year-old farmhouse. Up to 299 guests. It's the Lynchburg-area barn wedding that couples drive from other states for, and the fields give you the Blue Ridge on the horizon at golden hour.

The Virginian Hotel

A downtown landmark since 1913, now a Curio Collection hotel overlooking the James River, with spaces for 50 to 500 guests and rooms upstairs for everyone who traveled. Marble, tall windows and a lobby that photographs like the 1920s. The Bluffwalk and the old warehouses are outside the door for portraits.

Bella Rose

A property built around the historic Rosedale Mansion and Johnson Cottage, with a creek-side ceremony rotunda and a honeymoon treehouse. Indoor and outdoor spaces for up to 150 seated. Intimate, layered and full of distinct backdrops, which is exactly what a smaller wedding wants.

Sierra Vista Evington

A private home and estate venue in the foothills south of Lynchburg, with the mountains along the horizon. Smaller and quieter than the barns, and a fit for couples who want the day to feel like a house party with a view. Ask me about the light there; it leaves the lawn earlier than you'd think.

Have you photographed at my Lynchburg venue before?

Maybe, and if not, it genuinely doesn't matter. I walk every venue before the ceremony, on the day or at a visit beforehand, and I plan the timeline around where the light will actually be at your ceremony hour. How far in advance should we book?

Most couples reach out nine to eighteen months out, and popular Saturdays from April through June and September through November fill first. I only take a limited number of weddings each year so every couple gets my full attention, so if you have a date and a venue, ask sooner rather than later.

Does a longer drive change how the day is covered?

No. I build the drive into the schedule the same way I'd build in a first look, so I'm on site before getting-ready coverage starts, not rolling in during it. For a full-day collection in Lynchburg, that often means arriving the night before, and that's planned on my end, not yours.
