Danville, VA Wedding Photographer — Patrick Gibson
The Wedding Experience
I photograph weddings with an art-forward look. I'll guide you when you need it, keep it effortless, and document the parts you didn't even realize were happening. Based in Danville, Virginia, available worldwide — and yes, I'm actively taking destination weddings. If you're planning something big, small, non-traditional, or somewhere I need a passport, I'm in.
And here's the pillar everything rests on: real wedding photos age better. Every image is edited by hand in my true-to-color style — no batch filters, no weird skin blurs, no trends you'll regret in ten years. These will look as good at your thirtieth anniversary as they do at your reveal.
01 — The Collections
Every wedding collection includes all of your edited, high-resolution digital images — hand-finished in my true-to-color style, delivered in an online gallery with full printing rights. No paywall to unlock your photos, no watermarks, no gallery held back. The images are yours.

02 — A Real Wedding
Berry Hill — an 1844 Greek Revival mansion, eight columns across the front, stone steps and a lawn that runs to the treeline. A venue that photographs formally, and a couple who stayed entirely themselves inside it: an ivory bias-cut gown, boots under his jacket, a blush rose at the lapel. Elegant without ever going stiff. This is what a full wedding gallery feels like — one continuous story, true to color, nothing missed.

03 — The Second Photographer
My top-tier collections include a second photographer — my wonderful wife. Two of us means more moments, more reactions, more angles: one camera on your vows, one on your mom's face. One of us with you at golden hour, one catching cocktail hour before it disappears.
It also means the people photographing your wedding genuinely love weddings — we've stood exactly where you're standing.
04 — How It Works
We start with a consultation, in person or virtual — usually coffee. (I buy!) We'll walk through your vision and timeline, and a 25% retainer locks your date. I'll be in touch within the day.
Directed, not just documented. Calm direction when you need it, invisible when you don't — so the day feels like your day, not a photo shoot with a wedding attached.
A sneak peek within a week, your full gallery in 4–6 weeks — every image edited by hand. Then we design your album or wall art together, no pressure, no overwhelm.
05 — Wedding Questions
That depends on your timeline. I'll help you break down your day to figure out how much time is needed for full coverage — from getting ready to the final dance. Most couples book 8 hours.
Yes! I'm based in Danville, Virginia, but I serve all surrounding areas and destinations. Whether you're getting married in the mountains, at the coast, or across the country, I'm there — passport ready.
Start by filling out the inquiry form. From there, we'll schedule a consultation, go over your needs, lock in your date with a 25% retainer, and then start dreaming.
We pivot — with style. I'll always have a backup plan, whether that means adjusting the timeline or heading into a moody indoor space. Rain can also be gorgeous in the right light, so we'll decide what feels best for your vision.
Yes please. While I don't copy poses, I love getting a feel for your aesthetic. It helps me understand what you love — and from there, I'll make it my own.
Absolutely — dogs make incredible wedding photos. Tell me early so we can build them into the timeline and assign someone to hand them off after the ceremony, and I'll have their portraits done before anyone gets overwhelmed.
If the playlist slaps? Absolutely. I'm there to document your story, but if the energy's right and the vibe is electric, don't be surprised if I'm snapping photos with one hand and grooving with the other.
Maybe! It's happened before! Especially during handwritten vows or when grandparents hit the dance floor. I may be composed on the outside, but I'm deeply sentimental, and I feel moments as I shoot them.
